There is only one solution to our problems: total revolution! But before a political revolution can happen, we first must have a revolution inside ourselves; a revolution of the mind. A revolution will never happen until a great deal of people recognize the lies they’ve been living.

“How good it is to be insane, if only for a night.” — Franz Kafka

If you’re in the United States, you know what I’m talking about. Every day is a living hell here — and getting worse.

Since the 1980s, America has been undergoing a gradual but irreversible transition from a republic to a full-fledged autocracy, and the process is accelerating at an alarming rate. We live in a country where it is no longer safe to question the official narratives, to challenge the status quo, or to call out government corruption, because if you do, you’ll end up in prison or in an unmarked grave.

Our political system is dead, because political parties are a thing of the past. As for our so-called “news” media — that’s just the way it is; there are no “independent” journalists anymore. Instead, there are “journalists” with close connections to one of the political parties, who don’t hesitate to censor all the other media outlets and try to manipulate public opinion for their own gain. And it’s the “public opinion” that counts the most — the opinion of the majority of Americans.

We’ve been living in an information bubble for a long time. No, this is no exaggeration. We’ve become completely blind to the reality around us, and we are being kept in a constant state of fear, uncertainty, and confusion.

People are being told that the world is ending, that life is meaningless, that no one cares about them, that they’re doomed to a bleak future unless they do what the government tells them. We’re being told to hate ourselves and to hate others, to make war on our fellow citizens, and to hate and fear one another. We’re being led to hate and fear the Russians, the Chinese, and any other people who don’t look like us. We’re being told to love the government and the police, to hate minorities, and to love and respect rich and powerful people. We’re being told to accept all of these lies because they come from the authority figures.

The propaganda is so intense that it doesn’t even matter that we have absolutely no evidence to support any of these lies. That’s not even the point. The point is that these lies are so pervasive, that there’s no point in questioning them. After all, no one would ever agree to live under such a totalitarian regime — at least, not voluntarily. So why should anyone question the official narratives?

But if we don’t question these lies, if we don’t point out that these lies don’t match the reality, if we don’t insist on the truth, there will be a lot of people in trouble.

So yes, I’m being provocative, and yes, I do have some serious problems with my fellow citizens. But do I hate you? No, of course not.

The United States is full of good people who don’t deserve to live under such a terrible system. If enough of them wake up, then the political order will collapse — there is no other solution.

But for those who choose to remain blind to the truth, there’s a fate worse than death — that is, living in a totalitarian society.

A huge amount of Americans aren't interested in the truth... they just prefer a narrative that confirms what their gut feelings agree with, facts and reality be damned. For the USA citizens to "wake up" en masse is 1000x less likely that a fascist mob coup and end to democracy. The (theoretical) resulting dictatorship would provide even less truth than is provided now, and the brownshirts wouldn't care.

you lost me here.  Life in the US in 2022 is actually pretty nice.  Certainly better than, well, any other time.  Especially if you're poor, a minority or LGBetc, but for everyone else too.  Maybe women birthing people who were planning on having an abortion in a handful of states is slightly worse off than a year ago.

No it's not a Revolution we had George Floyd but what did millionaire athletes do, they went back to their rich lives and we as citizens have done the same thing, they took off sports for awhile and out it back on,  what happened to those protest when George Floyd was killed it fizzled, it's called the insurrection they tried a Civil Disobedience and they lost we will overcome and Dr King didn't use violence he said peac

Dr Barber already told Ds to continue to vote we will eventually eliminate the Sinema Filibuster, look Rs underpolled, we didn't win the H but we can win it back in 24 and hopefully we can hold the Senate, that's all we have to do is end the Filibuster once and for all, no revolution needed and unpack the Trump Crt

I wonder what the Canadians think about people threatening to emigrate if Trump gets back in.

No, I don't. And most Americans don't either.

There are places in between 'living hell' and 'MURICA PARADISE #1', of which the United States (and most other countries with extreme exceptions like Somalia and Norway) falls in between.

When people point out how the self-proclaimed 'number one country' is always somewhere between 15th and 40th in rankings, they forget that there are nearly 200 countries in the world. If the US is a living hell, most of the rest of the world is, too.

In the unlikely situation that there is a mass emigration of non-Republicans from the USA, Canada would only be able to take so many and would possibly as the UK, Australia, New Zealand to shoulder some of the burden, instead of completely turning people away.
