Rallys or Checkers?

We have Rallys here in MI--but I just saw on TV that they're switching the name to Checkers.  I've often seen Checkers in the South and Rallys in the North (like White Castle and Crystals).

So, are they switching everywhere--does anybody know?

I vaguely recall seeing a Checkers somewhere in the Chicagoland area, but I've never heard of Rallys.

The two merged in 1999 apparently and thusly are the same company (Krystal and White Castle on the other hand are not) - the food offereings are almost exactly the same, so don't fear the change. The main differences as far as I know menu-wise are that Rallies offers chili and Checkers offers more sandwiches, and hopefully we'll get the best of both worlds all around.

Down here it's been Checkers for as long as I can remember. It's probably easier on them in the long run to go by one name, so I figure that's the reason why they are making the change up where you are.

We have a chequers nearby... The Chequers Inn. Workman's pub with a good and cheap bistro alongside.

We have Rally's here and had a Checkers 10 - 15 years ago. Last time I went to Rally's, the cup said Rally's on one side and Checkers on the other.

No Checkers and no Krystals either except which I occasionally go to Augusta.  For some reason, they don't want to cross the Savannah.  There's a small chain called Central Park that's similar in concept (i.e. left and right-side drive-thrus with no seating that's OK, but hasn't taken off.
