Awful, and that’s been true since the start. He and PSUV at large are just obstacles to get to a socialist Venezuela and they’ve successfully gone back on their promises and beaten down on the worthwhile opposition once they realized they could cash out.

If you use the actual dictionary definition of "populist" and not the stupid Atlas meme "definition"*, he definitely is one, or at least was during his campaign and run.

Despite my populist rhetoric, I agree with you. Most populists are govern differently than they campaign, I just included ones based on who people think of.
