I would not have the foggiest idea whether this decision is right or wrong until I read the majority and dissenting opinions.

The biggest problem with mail in voting is it undermines the secrecy of the ballot

How?

You could always just use your own internal moral compass.

Totally based decision.  Voters can now have confidence that the state's elections will be conducted consistent with laws popularly enacted by the Legislature, not under "emergency" covid guidance from the Wisconsin Elections Commission.

This x 1,000.

If unelected bureaucrats can conduct elections contrary to the laws of the state and the constitution of the state in which those elections are held, what other changes to how we vote (or, even more importantly, how we COUNT votes) can be made without the consent of the legislature?

You're totally right. We need to give the power to regulate elections in Wisconsin back to the duly elected legislature.

Oh, what's that you say? The Wisconsin legislature is so gerrymandered that Democrats need to win the popular vote by 20% to eke out a bare majority? Guess the legislature isn't exactly the most impartial actor here. "Popularly elected" my ass. You two are absolutely shameless.
WI Geography is crap for democrats. A fair map would usually result in a republican majority. Gerrymandering doesn't always benefit GOP,  guys

With mail-in voting, you really have no way of knowing if someone was standing over the voter watching them and ordering them to fill their ballot out a certain way.  Nursing home residents and those who speak little English would be particularly vulnerable to this.

Only if they tamper with your mail, right? After you fill in the ballot, you put it in a sealed envelope.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court is not a legitimate political institution, and neither is the actual Supreme Court.

The problem is more that these courts act like a political institution when they in fact should be apolitical. But one political party has chosen to nominate partisan hacks and staunch ideologues to the benches so that they can force their agenda through.

The entire Wisconsin Supreme Court is an elected body of partisan hacks bar Brian Hagedorn.

He's like John Roberts working with 3 Sotomayors and 3 Alitos.  It's wild.

Roberts is also bad . Unlike roberts I dont think Hagedorn cares about what liberals think of him.

Yes, although even so Dems would have far more seats with a fair legislature map.
