That's funny, because all the peanuts I've known were Christian, and had neutral-to-hostile views regarding "Moroccans" in the Netherlands.  (a catch-all term that they designated for all Muslim immigrants in their country...similar to how the Germans use the term "Turk").

I use the slur "peanut" with great affection, of course.  My old unit was mostly Dutch Marechaussee, and they treated me like fam.  Literally.  Half the time I was stationed in Germany I actually spent in Heerlen, because that's where they took me. 

Also, half Indonesian/half Dutch females are solid 10s, bro.

At the end of the day, it's a cultural question, & most people are capable of living in a culture that's casually racist, or sexist, or homophobic, etc. in one way or another & think that it's not that big of a deal, if one at all because "it's always been like this" &/or it's not actually hostile. Even those being stereotyped in such instances tend to shrug it off more often than not.

In any event, attitudes do change, & Idk what it's like in the Netherlands, but here in the U.S., you hear about stuff like an episode of The Golden Girls from a few decades back being taken off the air because they did a mudmask blackface bit that, by today, came to be seen as offensive by some even though it would've been seen as quite normal 30 years ago.

Either way, if the Netherlands gets rid of Black Pete, will things be different? Well, children won't give a f**k either way: having once been a child, I can tell you that your average child won't care if Pete is Black, white, or even blue so long as they're still getting their presents on Dec. 25th.
