If Trump announces this month, will Biden follow soon?

Will Trump making a 2024 announcement this month, as he apparently plans to do, will that put pressure on Biden to quickly announce his official reelection campaign? Tbh, I struggle to see Biden leaving the question unanswered till the spring. Trump running imho seals the deal for Biden to run as well, unless he's unable for health reasons.

So the 2024 campaign might even start full-scale before Christmas this year. I remember half-joking even in this forum around 2017-18 that if Biden were to beat Trump in 2020, 2024 could be rematch between a 81 year old sitting prez against a 78 year old former prez.

Depends on how things go with midterms.  If a Red wave hits and R's pic up more than expected seats in both houses, then Trump will announce within a week.  In this scenario Dem's will realize they lost due to not "energizing" Dem voters enough and will begin to realize aging Biden is not going to be able to win in 2024.  DNC will have some soul searching to do in this case and will have to somehow coax Michelle Obama to run in 2024 as this would be the ONLY way to guarantee a win against Trump or other Repub candidate.
