Leaving aside DT’s disingenuous trolling, the disgraceful and criminal acts of that day left no remaining doubt about the fact that the 45th President is a fascist—however buffoonish, incompetent, and corrupt. Of course, none of those things are mutually exclusive with fascism.

The US did not have a peaceful transfer of power from 2020 to 2021. This should neither be forgotten nor forgiven.

The Capitol demonstration devolved into a riot thanks mostly to the willful ignorance of the U.S. Capitol Police.  The fact that demonstrators breeched the Capitol while Congress was meeting inside should always first and foremast be understood as an abject failure of law enforcement.

You clearly didn't watch the videos shown in the first day of the Jan 6th committee hearing. The capitol police were obviously overrun.

The Capitol Police should have never been in a position to have been overrun at the threshold of our Capitol.

Of course, an inconvenient truth of the Capitol riot is that there were/are many members of the USCP who were sympathetic to the rioters' cause, at least to the extent that they weren't going to employ lethal force to prevent them from entering the building.

There were concentric circles of protestors. The majority of the tens of thousands who attended the rally that day cannot be described as "insurrectionists" or even "rioters".

Basically:

If you stayed outside, you're a protestor.

If you went inside the Capitol after it had been breached and just walked around like a tourist, you're an idiot who broke the law, but still a protestor.

If you broke things, fought with police, or cheered on those things, you are a rioter.

If you brought weapons/restraints into the Capitol, wore armor/helmet, hunted elected officials, or organized or incited violence, you are an insurrectionist.
