So yeah. Technically the convention isn't over but there's really nothing important happening on Sunday, and if I had gone I was planning on leaving early anyway because my church's 20th anniversary celebration is that day at 5. But I have my voting pass to vote on the resolutions online.

Anyway I just have to say that if you think I'm pedantic you'll probably want to bash your head into a wall listening to the debate over the wording of the resolutions and things people wanted to do in changing words or removing or adding one or one guy who threw a big fit about the lack of a comma. DAMN. Reminds me why people get burnt out fast of going to these things. Yeah seriously, trust me, my pedant posts are nothing compared to what happened there.

Also seeing Republicans on some social media getting giddy about how their convention in the same location had much higher turnout. Because yes...when you have four offices with multiple candidates competing for (technically five but the Lt. Gov. spot is on a ticket with the Governor nominee), that'll attract more interest and desire to go than when you have five incumbents all running unopposed, duh. All were re-endorsed by acclimation.

Anyway if it's been uploaded anywhere I'd recommend checking out Secretary of State Steve Simon's speech, it was very good. Keith Ellison and Tim Walz gave great speeches as well but they always do. Also got a selfie with Walz at the Friday after party and talked briefly to his 21-year old daughter who drove in 14 hours from Bozeman, MT where she goes to college and how she made me feel old because I remember her when she was 4 in Walz's first campaign. Very smart girl.

But now time to take it easy and finally vote on the resolutions tomorrow.

Oh yeah I also learned the DFL Latino Caucus changed their name, and actually made it gender neutral in a sensible and logical way, they're now "El Movimiento"!

Then what are the people who decided to spend so much time arguing over commas or adding or removing single words from resolutions?

Political people at such events tend to be the most boring and irritating types imaginable BRTD, as if somebody had separated the wheat from the chaff, and only allowed the chaff in. So it is not surprising that the bulk of the press releases from politicians are wall to wall garbage. That is what these people want to make their day.

Yeah no doubt about that now, but that wasn't really the case until like Obama's second term. Something changed, maybe it's me instead of others but...
