I've heard some crazy things out there, but none tops the one that states Jon Corzine might be considering a presidential run.  Not only is he incredibly unpopular, he had to spend a lot of money simply to beat Bob Franks by 3 in a good Democratic year and the worst candidate known to man Doug Forrester in 2005 by 10.  Seriously, what would happen if this guy ran against even an average generic Republican

Best he could do is win all the tossups against a candidate like Duncan Hunter.  Seriously, what is he thinking?

Corzine has a 60% approval rating. He came from being virtually unknown in the state and advertised constantly in both elections when he could have cut back because he was always leading in the polls for governor.

Corzine would lose in a landslide. He wasn't a popular Senator, and isn't a popular Governor.  He spent nearly 63 MILLION dollars on his seat in the Senate, and about I think it was 30 or 35 million was spent beating Florio in the primary, and to only with the election by about 3 points.  I don't remember how much he spent to run for Governor, but it sure isn't helping him in the polls.

Either way, Corzine wouldn't win, and couldn't win, because he wouldn't win the primary. And if for some god forsaken reason he somehow managed to stumble his way out the winner, he would probably lose in an electoral landslide, and would fail to carry New Jersey.

This is my predicition map

Source please?  This is the first I've heard of it, although admittedly I wouldn't really be too surprised by it.

Corzine has a 60% approval rating.

Again, your source please?  He may well have a 60% approval rating in your house, but I'm hoping for a slightly more scientific poll.

Corzine is an accomplished businessman and politician still forming his legacy as governor.  He could win at least half of Americas popular vote in an election and carry all of the Kerry states and NJ.

OMG, you think he would lose NJ to a national Republican?  Honestly, do you even think about things before you post them?  I swear to god the gop loyalists on this board are some of most dense people i've ever seen.

I didn't realize that New Jersey was not a Kerry state.  Also, if you haven't checked the 2004 election results yet, winning all of the Kerry states is not enough electoral votes to win, so I don't know how winning those states would be an accomplishment for a candidate...

Seriously, I'm surprised you haven't given a proposal of marriage to Corzine yet.  Sheesh.

First off I was making a point about he would win NJ because someone said he wouldnt. Second, they said he would lose in a landslide and I said he'd win at least the Kerry states. I didnt say whether he'd win or not.  Now, since I believe you are from Canada you can marry Stephen Harper. There is no gay marriage in NJ.

“He's a  realistic candidate for president of the United States. He's taken on problems that a lot of people have avoided. It  will make him a national figure.” -- former Gov. Brendan Byrne, who served on a panel that assessed Corzine's first ten months as Governor.  (Press of Atlantic City, 11/16/06)
