Todays, ur, um ah.. "tracking polls" over at "the Bot"

<<insert standard Rasmussen "tracking poll" rant>>

=> Small samples (at 110 per day, Florida is the largest)
=> subset Data extracted from a larger sample designed to do something else
=> Robots
=> Weighted all to %^%$#!
=> A "colorful" track record
=> Longish time frame

<<end rant>>

Friday, Oct 22nd

Florida(with leaners)

Bush 48 (49)
Kerry 47 (47)

MIchigan(with leaners)

Kerry 51 (52)
Bush 46(46)

Minnesota(with leaners)

Bush 48 (49)
Kerry 46 (48)

Ohio(with leaners)

Bush 50 (51)
Kerry 46 (48)

Pennsylvania(with leaners)

Kerry 50 (52)
Bush 45 (46)

Missouri

Bush 50 (50)
Kerry 45 (45)

Given the tiny day to day samples and huge associated MOEs, these day to day blips are pretty meaningless, over the long haul the overall trend might be worth something, maybe.... I guess... kinda...

Thursday Oct 21st

Florida (with leaners)

Bush 49 (49)
Kerry 47 (47)

Bush +2 vs yesterday

Michigan (with leaners)

Kerry 49 (50)
Bush 46 (47)

Kerry -1 vs yesterday

Minnesota (with leaners)

Kerry 47 (49)
Bush 47 (49)

Unchanged

Ohio (with leaners)

Bush 49% (50)
Kerry 46% (47)

Bush up 1, Kerry down 1, vs yesterday

Pennsylvania (with leaners)

Bush 46% (46)
Kerry 50% (51)

Unchanged from yesterday

When does Zogby start his daily state tracking polls?  That will tell us precisely what is really happening in each state.

If you are refering to his interactive polls, he came out with those earlier this week.  But that's one thing that both Republicans and Democrats have agreed on this election is that those polls are garbage.  If you are reffering to a phone state-by-state tracking poll, if Zogby hasn't started one by now, with just a week and a half left till election day, I highly doubt he will.

Not referring to internet garbage polls.  His telephone state polls in 2000 started the last week or two before the election.

They are gold.  They were dead on in Florida and Michigan.  And for those of you who think Zogby biased in 2000 toward the Democrats, I might remind you that he gave GW a lot of slack in Ohio and California - if anything, he went way out of his way towards the GOP in those two states.

The Zogby phone polls.  Look at those when they come out and you won't even have to wait for  the vote count on election night.

Like him, hate him, doesn't matter.  This guy has a track record on Presidential voting that is second to none.
