The first session of the 2022 southern chamber legislative session is about halfway over. So far this session, we have passed a total of 55 bills and rejected 1. 14 bills remain on the floor under debate. While not yet drafted, approximately 50 additional bills are planned for potential debate.

I have to resign this morning to fight for our Region in Nyman which will open up a vacancy. Unfortunately, Delegate Octosteel has missed 4 consecutive vote-a-ramas and 59 consecutive votes which means his seat is now vacant under the Southern Constitution.

As far as next steps to close out the session strong, here is what is needed:

Quote
From Governor LT
- Appoint a replacement for Mr. Reactionary

- Appoint a replacement for Octosteel

- Sign 4 bills that have just closed as passed

- Introduce a budget (technically due March 1)

From Southern Chamber
- Once at full strength elect a new Deputy Speaker

- Vote on the 14 bills already on the Chamber floor

- Introduce and pass a Continuing Budget Resolution to extend last year's budget through the end of this legislative session. Technically budget needs to be in place by March 21st. This will give yall time to debate.

- Ensure that the Constitution Committee submits a final product.

As of now, the Southern Chamber is 5 bills away from setting the Atlasian record for most bills passed in a legislative session, which is currently held by the 13th Congress at 59. Close strong and win one for the Gipper.

It has been an honor to serve with you all. I intend to continue maintaining the legislative noticeboard to assist the Speaker and will remain an active participant.

All the best.

- R
