I’m hearing reports of important Ukrainian government websites going down and Russian tanks at the border.

Not only that, but I know people who work in the defense industry and they claim that Ukraine getting invaded soon is “inevitable” and that Russia is ‘backtracking’ is meant to be a ruse. While I understand that the defense industry might be biased on this issue, I see no reason to distrust my sources, unless they’re 2003 levels of inaccurate I suppose.

All I know now is that we should all pray for the people of Ukraine, including Atlas poster Andjey on here.

The grins on the faces of the Military-Industrial Complex are getting wider and wider by the second.

No. It was supposed (according to Western propaganda) that today at 3:00 am in Ukraine the invasion would start... it didn't happen, nothingburger.

Nobody knows, although Russia's blatant mixed messages are themselves very concerning. There was a report that a major aerial assault in advance of a ground invasion was supposed to start about an hour ago, and that didn't pan out, but the report was from the f**king Sun so even those of us most anxious about the situation took it with several grains of salt.

Always delighted to see a Republican avatar use the words "Western propaganda" unironically.

It will likely happen today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, or some other undetermined future date.

After this date has been heavily "promoted" by Western media and govts, Putin would actually be stupid to order an invasion exactly today. I'd at least not do it today and then accuse the other side of "fearmongering" to gain points on the propaganda front.

Yeah, what was never going to happen is that Biden says "Russia is probably going to invade Ukraine on February 16" and then Putin responds by saying "you're absolutely right, we're going to do just that, muhahaHAHAHAHARHARHARHAR".

If anything, the specific date was so publicly "promoted" so that Russia can't actually invade any longer.
