By their logic, you could claim that literally ANY form of ID now is Nazism. Which is ironic as much as they push for required voter ID for voting.

Nazi comparisons are common, come from all sides, and are virtually always wrong/offensive.

Holding this position doesn't make Greg the Great a Democrat.

I can assure you the majority of people who think this exact sentence are Democrats. Republicans go more and more off the deep end every year. Like many, many posters were, Greg will eventually either join them in their lunacy or switch to being a Democrat, reluctantly at first and later embrace it.

Are you implying that the Emerging Democratic Majority is still a valid theory? And that Republicans will be a perpetual minority party? Moreover, I don't think Greg is going to leave the Republican Party, not based off this alone. The Republican presence on this forum has actually increased over the past few years.

No

I don't know about "permanent," but the party that has lost 7 of the last 8 popular votes isn't trending up and primarily gets their power from institutions heavily slanted into their favor.

But to your larger point, I think that there are plenty of people happy to go off the deep end with the rest of the party, as social media radicalizes them without them realizing it.

Moreover, I don't think Greg is going to leave the Republican Party, not based off this alone. The Republican presence on this forum has actually increased over the past few years.
Time will tell, he's still young. But he seems to be fundamentally misaligned with the direction his party is going.

The idea that “all you have to do is reject Trump and you’ll be welcome in the Democratic Party!” is ludicrous which is obvious based on how Democrats treat Manchin/Sinema which hate Trump as much as they do yet are not as far left.

Greg is ultimately a right-winger and will not be welcome in a left-wing political party.

I think you and Calth are taking an established throwaway meme a little too literally, but I also think people who are disgusted (rather than sympathetic) at anti-vaxxers comparing themselves to Holocaust victims are going to have a harder and harder time fitting in with the Republican Party as the years go by this decade. MTG/Boebert/Cawthorn are just settling in and getting more established, and I'm sure far more ridiculous people will be entering Congress every 2 years.
