Either Adams or Harris.

Buttigieg has to make inroads in the South, especially with Black voters. Black voters are the base of the party, he has to make headways there like how Carter, Clinton, Obama and Biden did.

Harris, because I don't see Adams getting any real traction. Dude is a weirdo whose victory in NYC was a combination of other candidates flaming out and the opposition running out of time. His Manchin-esque politics won't play in a primary, and he won't take enough away from Harris to allow Buttigieg to pass her.

I think Adams would pretty much wash Harris out; being moderately conservative, male, and not mixed race, he's a better fit for the South (and black voters everywhere), and he has Bloomberg and his billions in his corner. I would call him the favorite in this hypothetical primary, though I expect other candidates would enter.

There's obviously still potential that Adams is a disaster as a mayor, but I'd expect that preempts him from even running or at least being considered. (I guess de Blasio didn't get that memo.)

I guess this is one scenario where Pete could squeak his way to the nomination, assuming Adams and Harris run close enough to each other to split the black vote.

Kamala would sweep for the most part, Pete would win a handful of states here and there, Adams wouldn't be a significant force in the election anywhere

A Harris vs. Adams race, you mean

Peter Paul Montgomery doesn't have a snowball's chance in winning a nomination, thank God

The more I think about it, the more I realize that I may be wrong about Adams after all. Compared to the terrible duo, he is more charismatic and has a coalition in place that would placate the elite to choose him for the nomination and eventual GE.
