I don't like our water being sold off. That should not be a partisan issue.

Wow, I sure do hope Australia doesn't run out of water any time soon.

(Psst: a company saying money can be made by expanding water production to meet rising demand isn't a bad thing.)

Except that's not what's being done. Those that aren't speculating on water are funneling to cotton farmers, who are sucking the Murray-Darling dry.

Wow, using water for agriculture? Crazy. What dastardly schemes will these thieving Yankees come up with next?

And again, you just refuse to entertain the notion that there is something bad going on.

Cotton farming doesn't provide anything to Australia. The money goes to foreign companies, predominantly Chinese. And the drying up of water means that farmers who are actually engaging in productive agriculture are consistently getting the short end of the stick because ScoMo's coalition partners, the Nationals, are paid for by the Irrigators' Council, which makes their name by stomping all over anyone who dares to criticise cotton farming.

Because I don't have a reflexive opposition to economic activity, yes.

I was unaware that producing cotton was not considered productive.

"those who disagree are bought and paid for" Never heard that one before.

It amazes me that people in countries complain about their countries “center right” wing leaders whose policy on a wide array of subjects would overlap more with Democrats than Republicans. Like do you all just hate on anything “center right” or?

Morriosn is not centre right. he presents himself as that, but he is in fact of the radical right-wing.
Lmao. Radical right wing in Australia= Susan Collins/ Mitt Romney at most
Good to see that Pauline Hanson is apparently Susan Collins/Mitt Romney.
He called Morrison radical right..maybe pay attention to that huh but no try and @ me apparently
I'll apologize for making that post that was likely made due to a lack of sleep and I should have paid more attention while reading the post and I'll acknowledge that Morrison isn't radical right.

Morrison is also enabling fascist policies at this point so he’s a massive HP
“It’s okay that the American government is literally listening to you 24/7 because 3,000 Americans died literally before I was born but it’s fascism when Australia has lockdowns and actually enforces their laws because of a pandemic which has killed millions.”

Anyways if Australia is so awful and scary, why don’t you go invade it like your idol Cheney would do? After all, it worked so well for team Bush in Iraq, right?

Nah, it's not that, it's that you don't have a response.

People in Australia are literally not allowed to leave more than 5km out of there house, police are going door to door asking if they have heard about a protest, arent allowed to have any vistors in their own home and oh by the way is using the military to enforce the lockdown.

If you dont want to call it fascism fine, but it for sure is a police state at this point

That is only in 'locked down' Sydney and Melbourne.

Perth, Adelaide, Hobart and Brisbane are free agents.

You think OSR can tell the difference? Please, neocons like him had trouble knowing the difference between Afghanistan and Iraq, don't expect him to know Australian states. As far as he is concerned, Australia is a desert North Korea run by Dictator for life Scott and an army of emus.

I don't have a response for why it's stupid to compare Scott Morrison to Saddam Hussein?

That's a d%$nation of Democrats, not an endorsement of the right-wing.

That said, Australia is one of the few places that, healthcare aside, really is U.S. down undah.

I don't know how to put this charitably but you're not that smart if you unironically believe the "Democrats would be center-right elsewhere" line.

No, he is.

Either that, or he's incredibly dumb. Honestly, egiven his entire career has been him failing upward, I wouldn't be surprised.

Also mate, look into these things. Aboriginal communities have to rely on water being trucked in because cotton farmers are taking it all.

Australia’s Overton window is well to the left of the United States’ center right, consequently “left” is well to the left of the meaning here so no actually, especially in the anglosphere it’s true. For places it’s not true would be some parts of Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa

Our brave leader, Prime Minister Scott Morrison, is going to crack down on the "Social Media Palace of Cowards".

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-10-07/prime-minister-defends-dutton-twitter-defamation-action/100522002

He dislikes informal unsolicited attacks of his staff.

Who would have thought that Barnaby Joyve would sew the seeds for the downfall of Facebook.

But the overwhelming mood in Australia is parents want Facebook disconnected for the benefit of our young people.

Facebook pays no tax and we ingest it's cancerous tentacles of misinformation and abuse.
