I’ve seen descriptions that say Thurmond was the official Dem nominee in the state, but the official totals always still list him as “State’s Right’s Democrat” while Truman is just “Democratic”.

Thurmond was officially the “Democratic” nominee in Alabama and Mississippi, while Louisiana had a sort of compromise where Thurmond got the rooster but was still listed as State’s Rights while Truman got the Democratic label.
