Quote
Twitter on Monday evening temporarily suspended Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene after she shared misinformation about Covid-19 and vaccines, a company spokesperson told CNN.

The Georgia Republican, who has a track record of incendiary rhetoric, will not be able to tweet for 12 hours due to Twitter's policy against people who repeatedly share misinformation.

The social media platform had labeled two tweets from Greene as "misleading" in recent days. If she continues to share misinformation about Covid-19 through her Twitter account, Greene could be suspended from the platform permanently.

.....

Greene had received a 12-hour suspension from Twitter earlier this year following a conspiracy-laden thread about the Georgia Senate elections. Some of those tweets earned labels from Twitter noting: "This claim about election fraud is disputed, and this Tweet can't be replied to, Retweeted, or liked due to a risk of violence."

Why Twitter doesn't have the cojones to permanently ban her is beyond me.

I'd say this is a near certainty. When she gets her account suspended, she will whine about it being "censorship" and idiots will eat it right up.

She is odious for her regressive social views, but it's amusing seeing "liberals" championing censorship. Of course once you mention that, we'll hear the disingenuous "it's a free market" refrain. It's too bad, because the 90% of the time democrats criticize the free market, they're on the right side of the issue.

Spreading false information that gets Americans killed is not, and never has been, covered under free speech. Back when authorities weren't afraid to enforce the law, it was considered treason.

This is why Gettr exists, assuming she wants to wade her way through the flood of furry porn and hentai. I'm sure she's used to it though. She's pretty chummy with Matt Gaetz after all.

I will not tolerate insinuations that these crazies are part of the community.

Agreed, but they deserve each other if that's the case.

March 2020 it was believed the primary method of transmission was fomites so a mask would help the outbreak on the margins. We did need enough N95 masks for health care workers who had COVID being coughed into their faces. Now we know the primary method of transmissions is through the air so yeah wearing a mask has a big effect.
