By the way, I wonder if the Dem hacks will still insist that Casey is going to beat Santorum when it comes to the ad wars.

Casey's ad isn't neccessarily bad, but it's one he should have run a while ago. Now that the campaign is heating up sweet little template ads like that just don't do the trick. Santorum's ad is very good, it makes a specific point and does it in a way that is memorable and clever.

To stay in the lead, Casey needs to come out swinging, and hard.  And if he's too much of a "gentleman" to personally do that, the state and national parties should go negative for him.

That ads been on his site for weeks, his campaign just panicked with the new polls coming out, and started running that ad instead of waiting until Labor Day to begin. Probably a mistake.

And yeah, Santorum's ad is highly effective.

Santorum has more money to spend on ads.  This means better production value and ads being run more often.  There's no magic here.

Now ask why Santorum has more money.  Because he kisses the feet of multi-millionaires and rich special interests.

Santorum's ad was average. It was also hokey (which'll play well west of Harrisburg) and most important to me, didn't address a single real issue of the day. Does anyone think voters will be mobilized by Casey missing votes? Of course not, Rick is too afraid to admit that Casey is a moderate Democrat and that the GOP is struggling this year.

Neither of these are really issue ads.  Santorum is trying to drive a wedge between Casey's image and the memories of his father and Casey is trying to get a positive, feel good image.  As others have said, Casey's ad is about 1-2 months too late.

It would be nice to get a decent issues ad out of one of the campaigns.

Attacking a politician for missing some time on the job is ridiculous. Bush did this to Kerry and Edwards and didn't even make a dent.

All politicians miss time on the job while they're out campaigning.

This ad won't do a damn thing.

Finally! I've been waiting for one like this. Excellent! Casey - Getting owned in tough races since 2002.
I do believe you mean Casey- Failing at life since he was born.

Also, this as is hilarious, and completely true. I was at the treasury once, he wasnt in his office (on a weekday?).

Casey has done nothing as Treasurer. In fact, he decided to run for the Senate only a month after taking over in his new job.

Of course not. Im supporting Stanley Hetz for Santorum's seat, however, not Casey.

That's like voting for Alan Schlessinger, you'll only help Santorum win Sad
Casey may not be liberal enough, but hell I supported Brad Carson in 2004 and if he wasn't a Democrat I would've hated him. We won't take back the Senate by voting for 3rd parties (same thing I tell Lieberman supporters that I know)

A good start, but not the most effective I've ever seen in PA; Wofford ran ones against Santorum that were more hard hitting.

Unfortunately any votes against Santorum and Casey will have to be write-ins since the legislature and the state and federal courts seem to believe any other choices would be confusing to the voters. Let's all thank them for taking such good care of us.
