Weaker. I don't think the voters ever questioned Loeffler's sanity

Loeffler was bad in the sense that she lacked any authenticity. Walker's issues are much more worse IMO since they're more complex and all over the place

Weaker. Walker is an absolutely atrocious candidate and should he win - which is still possible - he'll be solely bailed out by the national environment.

Loeffler's weakness: Rich and out-of-touch, low appeal in rural Georgia, stock scandal?
Loeffler's strength: None imo

Walker's weakness: Says strange and odd stuff, no experience
Walker's strength: Much stronger pull in rural Georgia, might do better with black voters than Loeffler

This is pretty much my take on it as well. He's a worse candidate running in a better environment for his party.

Kelly Loeffler was honestly a pretty good candidate!

This.  Most of Loeffler's weakness is only obvious in retrospect.  Being a self-funding woman with appeal in Atlanta's suburbs was a major strength for her, but she couldn't outrun Trump's delusional denial of the GA results.

I feel like "Loeffler has appeal in the suburbs" is the same flawed thinking as "Dr. Oz has appeal in the suburbs!"

Kelly Loeffler was honestly a pretty good candidate!

If you read some of the threads on here from December 2020 I'm not sure you would feel that way. All there was about her at the time was how she was super bland, did not excite anyone, had the whole stock scandel, was nothing more than a Trump puppet, and did not even win her seat.

Kelly Loeffler was honestly a pretty good candidate!

I feel like I've made a post to this effect in half a dozen threads. People decided that she was a bad candidate because she wasn't appealing to them, but there's no empirical evidence whatsoever from election results that she actually was bad. You'd think that on a forum dedicated to election results that people would assign some importance to them.

Can anyone here provide actual evidence in terms of election results that Kelly Loeffler was a bad candidate?

In a rational world Walker would be a weaker candidate than Loeffler but being a college football legend makes him stronger even if that makes no logical sense. People are dumb.

She underran Perdue, although there's a question to as of doing so by 0.43% is notable enough to be a "bad candidate."

Calling Loeffler an objectively "bad candidate" is similar to the claim that the more "charismatic" candidate always wins.  These assessments are only ever formed with the benefit of hindsight.  We backwardly project traits onto candidates to explain away their wins/losses.

I think it's obvious now that he was significantly weaker.

Her other issues either didn't become obvious until it was too late or were forced on her by the rest of the GOP, like the insider trading scandal or her race to the far right to compete with that crazy idiot to make it to the runoff.

Hard for me to answer. I don't think Loeffler *really* wanted to be there, but Walker had many glaring problems.

She was never elected, and her campaign just seemed really lazy, and I honestly don't know if she really wanted to be there.
