If it's similar to November, the initial count will be completed the Monday after, though it could be early Feb. before we get final certification. Perdue/Loeffler could claim a premature victory, but just like with Trump, Raffensperger (&, ultimately, McConnell) wouldn't put up with it.

GOP love claimin victory early, they just don't like democracy really.

But I don't think it'll take much longer than Friday...and that's if it's to the wire.

If Ossoff and Warnock are leading on election night, $10 says Republicans will be screaming about how we need to wait for the mail in votes to be counted.

They’d be right, of course, but that hypocrisy would be overwhelming.

Which votes will be counted first? Biden initially trailed and then surpassed Trump. If counting is conducted the same way and Ossoff and Warnock are leading on election night, they should absolutely win.

Some counties counted some absentees on election night, but GA vote counting was in-person ED and in-person early votes (AIP, or "Absentee In-Person") first, then absentee, provisional, and UOCAVA (overseas and military) votes over the following few days. That's why Trump got out to a gigantic lead early, because ED and AIP votes were the bulk of the votes counted on election night.

Barring some dramatic shift in how Georgia counties will report - I haven't heard any indication this will be the case - I doubt Ossoff and Warnock will be leading on election night. If they are, then ED turnout was really, really low (as in the levels seen in the JMC poll) based on the current estimates of how the total early votes look, and the GOP is on track to lose.
