I don’t rate Lawrence Fox, but this isn’t really an argument for anything.

I think people deserve a lot less judgement when they break the rules sometimes to meet family or friends, these are hard times and people are facing all sorts of mental health issues. I don't like a lot of shaming culture that this crisis has created, people analysing the details of others' lives to see if they've broken the rules, or people who like to report even small violations. I've broken the rules a few times and so have most people. I think that having understanding for other people and why they don't follow the rules perfectly is as important as taking precautions to slow the spread of the virus.

However, this is someone with a big platform using it to boast and act morally superior over other people being more careful about spreading the virus, and also dismiss NHS workers who are putting themselves at risk every day. I think this response is reasonable.

Agreed, but it doesn't sound like it was just family and friends. It sound like he intentionally invited as many people as possible to make a point.

Lockdown fanatics keep the elderly and the ill from their family -> the elderly and ill die alone -> "this is your fault for not staying away from your family!"
