I've just been frustrated of the people who still think today's teenagers are millennials.

PS- "zoomers" takes on a whole new meaning now, with the pandemic.

I have no qualms with Gen Z. The only inter-generational rivalries that seem to be grounded in truth are Boomers vs. Millennials and (maybe) Greatest Generation vs. late Silent/early Boomers.

I think millennials hate Boomers significantly more. The more accurate equivalent would be if Zoomers end up despising Generation X.

I'm sure when we become old and crotchety it'll happen though. But it doesn't seem like an accurate reflection of the generation right now.

I post on some music forums/Facebook groups that are mostly people my age (older Millennials) and they complain about Gen Z and how they have sh!tty taste music and how it's awesome our generation didn't get obsessed with stupid things like TikTok all the time.

You don't need to be a Millennial to know that TikTok is a cancer and 2020 is full of questionable music. But I have the sensation that what your group is doing is more specifically an early 1980's thing than a Millennial thing?

In case you're implying I'm anti-Chinese or something, no, I'm not, but social media are usually toxic, and even more so if we are talking about one whose user base skews very young.

I dislike tiktok, for sure. I hate facebook, too, and that got popular on the backs of millennials. These are artificial divides. Gen Z seems great to me, even though I'm solidly a millennial. I'm not going to judge them by their worst and I expect them to do the same.

Well the other big complaint is that they have sh!tty taste in music although to be fair this exact same thing was used to attack younger Millennials by older Millennials back when they were obsessed with My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy. Although a difference is MCR and FOB are potential gateways to music older Millennials like (and was for a lot of them) while what Gen Z listens to is completely different.
