I keep on wondering why Minnesota is so close.  I suppose a lot of it has to do with Klobuchar's lack of notoriety and I don't think she is the best candidate either.  However, I still expect her to outdo John Kerry and she will surely be helped by Mike Hatch's coattails in the gubernatorial race.  Partisan politics aside, its true that Kennedy is a Bush-clone and as long as she emphasises that in her ads then Klobuchar will win.  My prediction:

KLOBUCHAR 52%
KENNEDY 45%

Just so you all know, so far the entire campaign has basically been the DFL (note that I said the DFL, not Klobuchar) screaming that Kennedy is a Bush clone and trying to tie him to Bush whenever possible, and Kennedy responding with empty rhetoric basically saying that he's not, that he'll be an independent voice in Washington, that he'll clean up corruption, blah blah blah, despite that his record shows that he won't be anything other than another GOP empty suit and he even took money from Abramoff. Of course the DFL is correct, but it's annoying how neither side is talking about specific issues. The lopsided DFL primary has had more discussion of issues (with Klobuchar's no chance primary opponent Ford Bell calling for an immediate Iraq pullout) than the actual Senate race.

Klobuchar's lead is similar to Kerry's was in most polls, so I'm guessing this is the whole DFL strategy, just link Kennedy to Bush whenever possible and count on the slightly larger DFL base to pull it off. It's not the most glamorous strategy, but it'll most likely work, so I guess who am I to complain.

I've been meaning to go to the local DFL office and offer to volunteer for Klobuchar and Hatch for awhile. May I will tommorow.

There is not a chance in hell that klobucher is going to lose. Minnesota is the democrats number one state for 2006. they are convinced if they win here they win nationally.

I'm a little worried about this one but i think the Dems will win in the end. I'm actually more worried about Washington now.

No. I dont listen to Howard Dean. He is trying to get lieberman out and i think its wrong. All i know is i remember Schumer and Richardson saying that Minnesota is the democrats number 1 state behind Pennslyvania and Maryland.
