Was this actually just made to be a power grab to have Larry Elder appoint Feinstein’s replacement? Other than a chance to replace Feinstein, Larry Elder would have been a lame duck had he won.

It was partly about Feinstein, but it was also about trying a new scheme to overturn gubernatorial elections where Democrats won.
