I'm honestly curious as to why Obama wanted him in particular to run so badly. Obama himself is an extremely gifted politician, but sometimes his instincts are very questionable.

His political instincts are quite terrible. Hillary probably would have won if he didn't push TPP so hard.

Little known fact that Patrick grew-up on the South Side of Chicago and his family still lives there, so there's a hometown connection between him and Obama.

If anything it would be Harris and Booker, Patrick isn't a natl figure and Booker is a Lawyer just like Harris.


That's why Obama, Biden, Kerry and Edwards stuck together they were part of David Axelrod Law firm and Axelrod was part of Daley, Ferraro and Mondale and Rahm Emanuel campaign

That's why Obama picked Biden instead of Bayh for Veep, but Kerry needed Gephardt, Edwards didn't have natl security and Gephardt could of won VS or CO for Kerry
