Virtually every celebrity of note has endorsed Biden at this point, which isn't surprising. Hollywood has leaned overwhelmingly to the left for a long time now, and they absolutely adored Obama. But it's ironic how Trump intermingled with many of these people for decades, and look at how thoroughly they are rejecting him now.

You're correct. I've noted elsewhere that Hollywood was a much more conservative industry during the Golden Age of Hollywood. But for ~50-60 years or so, it has leaned strongly to the left. Most Hollywood celebrities, like I indicated above, supported Obama twice (and Kerry, Gore, and Clinton before him, as well as the other Clinton after him), so their support for Biden now isn't surprising. Everyone from Lady Gaga to Taylor Swift to The Rock to Arnold Schwarzenegger has made their endorsements of him explicit.

It was at its most conservative from the 1940s (when the communists were all blacklisted) until the late 1960s, when the Late Silent/Early Boomer generation of directors, actors and screenwriters became ascendant (Altman, Coppola, Kubrick, etc).

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood uses this dynamic as a backstory - Leonardo DiCaprio's character is a John Wayne-type Western actor whose good guy-bad guy shoot-em-up skills are no longer wanted in 1969 when a new generation of directors want to create more nuanced films full of social commentary and moral relativism.

Though it's still worth noting that most actors were liberal Democrats. The Republicans were mostly male Western/action stars. Even people with "conservative" public images like Lucille Ball and Andy Griffith were very strong Democratic Party supporters.
