Not going to lie, I'm disappointed it's not a whistle-stop train tour.

The only trains in Texas are Fort Worth-to-OKC and New Orleans-Houston-San Antonio-El Paso.

I don't know why, but mentioning the dearth of passengers trains in Texas resulted in my mind developing a mental image of the Biden campaign hijacking a freight train old west style and using it to tour the state.

Amarillo, Lubbock and Abilene seem like a waste of time.

I'd rather see a driving trip along I-35:

Laredo > San Antonio > San Marcos > Austin > Temple > Waco > DFW

Agreed. Biden should focus on poorer minority areas and fast-growing suburbs. I would add a few cities to get this: McAllen > Laredo > San Antonio > San Marcos > Austin > Temple > Waco > Fort Worth > Dallas > Tyler > Houston > Beaumont

The stop in Dallas is right in the center of the "Gayborhood" off Cedar Springs.

I might end up going.

Went to the lesbian bar there last summer.

Was not disappointed.

Sue Ellen's is great! I've done drag there, and have many friends who have that as their home bar. I miss going out there so much, it's been pretty much shut down since March.

You do drag? That's amazing!

Not as much lately, but yeah I have. It's so much fun!

Okurrrrrrr

Personally I'd prefer a trip to the Rust Belt just to do everything to get them blue this year, but after 2016 I doubt PA/MI/WI are being overlooked and I'm sure this makes sense to campaign strategists.

High turnout in Amarillo and Lubbock means the sizable Hispanic pluralities there are voting. That was why Lubbock swung so hard to O’Rourke in 2018. I’d certainly prioritize South Texas over those west Texas cities, definitely, though.

I like adding Beaumont and Port Arthur. The black vote in Jefferson is important.

Good. Keep wasting your time there, instead of protecting the Rust Belt.

Exactly.  I'm happy to hear that Joe "Big Guy" Biden will be wasting time and money in Texas.

They know what they're doing, don't fret.

Wonderful. Underestimate trends at your own risk folks.

While I'm a believer in the Rust Belt Wave Purple heart, Texas is a swing state now

At this point he has money to burn because he's got more than he can possibly spend. Trump on the other hand doesn't even have money to contest the states that he really needs.

This is gonna be the first time many Texans know what it feel like in a long term swing state.

Trump is so broke, he can't even afford to buy his staff lunch at McDonalds.

I don't get the Beto hate, lol.

Sure, his Presidential campaign was a big gaffe and all, but he's still one of the major contributors to the currently growing Dem. Party in the State.

I welcome this wholly. Nobody in WI feels Biden has unjustly "neglected" the state; he's made multiple visits and is dominating the airwaves. He should expand the map while it's possible; it's not just good politics for this election to be on the offense, but it's better for Democrats long-term if Republican have to compete in TX+GA+AZ heavily in addition to WI+MI+PA+MN.

It also may be the Democrats last chance to flip the TX state House for a while. If the GOP keeps the trifecta, the GOP prolly makes a gerrymander that holds up until 2026 or so, and even then, they'd prolly need a wave year to win it.

It’s clear with this plus Harris visit plus Sanders’ phone banking inLaredo that Dems smell blood in the after in Texas
