McConnell blocks almost everything Biden does including many popular and well known policy proposals which are supported by the majority of Americans. America is struggling it's at least partially because of the deadlocked government not being able to do as much as it could. Which is more likely?

The thing is, I think it's pretty much impossible for things to NOT be doing well by 2022. It's pretty clear now that the COVID vaccine is coming soon and will be highly effective. The economy will likely roar as a result and things will be "back to normal" more or less. Biden will get credit for that, which will definitely look great compared to the current situation at worst, and I think that helps us in the midterms. If the GOP are absolute obstructionists in the Senate and block everything, including popular legislation with bipartisan support and cabinet picks and judges, that could be used against them as well.

Having a GOP-controlled senate could be a gift to Biden. McConnell could an effective antagonist to get Democrats riled up about, like Republicans have done with Pelosi for the last 15 yeas.

Dems want their Stimulus package, Biden wants his Cabinet and  want his judges all would be DOA in a McConnell lead Senate

You are just saying this, because this is your view in his Rs should keep contrrol of the Senate. Biden would get. 0 judges passed and very few Cabinet posts filled

Also, not being able to get much passed means there won’t be anything like Obamacare in 2010 to outrage Republicans and fire them up to vote.

What was wrong with Obamacare? Or was it just a bogeyman manufactured by right-wing media?

What, exactly, are the "popular and well known policy proposals" that McConnell's blocking in your scenario?

Presidents always get blamed for things going badly. The narrative of the whole Obama administration was "those damn Republicans are holding up the government" and the polls kept saying that Republicans were taking the blame but each midterm grew their Senate and House majorities even more.

Biden can do (and will try to do) a lot of progressive things by executive orders
