I mean that's kind of unexpected but seriously, how many white 19-year olds WEREN'T into Nirvana when Nevermind came out? Odds are likely she at least was at some point and has probably worn a Nirvana/Pearl Jam/Stone Temple Pilots shirt at some point too.

I may be wrong but ACB's demographics outside of her age, and, I guess, her race, do not seem to correlate well to "Nirvana fan".

They were huge at the time, like Adele/Taylor Swift big, not just the equivalent of some modern indie band. I'm sure plenty of teens from conservative families liked them. All conservatives don't just listen to country or Christian music.

I know that they were huge and that plenty of teens from ACB's background must have liked them, but surely fewer than from other backgrounds.

Yeah, but the music you listen to is pretty niche, if 99+% of people who casually listens/listened to Nirvana, Lady Gaga or the Beatles owned at least one official band shirt or other piece of cheap merch, they'd all be selling as much merch as Disney/Pixar
