I would probably have called him a FF but he signed the absurd corporate board bill(requiring upto 43% in certain scenarios to be women) so HP.

Twice governor both times coming after a two-term Republican governor who was previously a Hollywood actor.

So, funny.

One of the most interesting figures in modern politics but surprisingly under-discussed. He was pretty effective in government, was one of few on the left to frankly talk about the limits of government, and was influenced by his time at a Jesuit novitiate.
This is one of my favorite articles on him: https://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/five-faces-of-jerry-brown/

Massive, massive FF. One of the best governors there ever were. Especially his 2011-19 term was great, bringing California back from a deep hole after the Great Recession. Too bad Brown was never president. He would have been excellent.

Supreme FF. To quote Bill Maher, "I wish we could have had Jerry Brown. No one can deny his values, his results, or his ability to work with people. A real understanding of what a government is supposed to do, rather than a purely ideological belief about what it's supposed to 'be'." Growing old ought to not be seen as a liability, because governing is where we need wisdom. Jerry Brown resurrected California's failing economy, & that should've easily had Democrats anointing him for a presidential run, but they didn't, because he's 82, & ageism is apparently still okay.

One thing I will give to him is that he is literally the only national/big tier Democrat who didn't support what the Obama Title IX rules had come to., in 2017 when there were rumors of Devos attacking "title IX" the CA legislature passed a bipartisan bill with all Democrats voting for it to codify Obama-era Title IX rules but Jerry Brown did veto that bill .

Moonbeam was a pioneer into reshaping the Democratic Party around "green" NIMBYism, fiscal austerity, Silicon Valley and Hollywood. But he had more people skills than Hillary so nobody cared.

Definitely better in his later run than early one.

Still FF, but how little he did on resisting Prop. 13 and some bizarre SC picks...and the flat tax nonsense....

More moderate on fiscal issues than I am at least federally but he's the kind of politician we need more of today. Solid FF.

How did someone go from criticizing a non candidate or politician Hillary in a 1992 debate and voting for Nader in 2000 to endorsing Hillary in the 2016 primaries?

He would have been so much better than Clinton.
