Welcome to our online republic.  Wink

If there are any questions you have regarding any of the political parties (especially the Christian Democratic Party, of which I am its chairman) if you should decide to register with any of them, feel free to ask me.  Smiley

Welcome I'll try to give you a quick explanation.

Atlasia is a government simulation in which registered Atlasians can run for vary government positions from Lt. Governors to President.

Atlasia's legislative is unicameral with legislative powers vested in the 10 member Senate which has 5 Senators from districts which are created by the governors and are nearly equal in population and regions, which are Atlasia's equivalent of States.

Atlasia's judicial branch is represented in the Supreme Court which is made up of three justices appointed by the President with the approval of the Senate. Their function is similar to the US Judiciary.

Atlasia's executive branch is represented by the President and the Cabinet. The President is elected by a national popular vote every 4 months. This vote uses preferential voting as of now which is the same system that is used in places such as Australia.

Atlasia is comprised of 5 regions, the Northeast, Southeast, Mideast, Midwest and Pacific, which act as our states. Each region has a republican system of government and have elected Governors and Lt. Governors.

The current major political parties are:

The Christian Democratic Party (CDP): Economically centre to centre left, socially right/authoritarian. Mostly composed of forum populists. Their platform and a history can be found here.

The Independent Liberal Party: Economically centre-right to centre-left. Socially liberal. The largest mainstream leftist party in Atlasia. Mostly consisting of Social Liberals, moderate social democrats, centrists, and some libertarians. Their platform and history can be found here.

The Free Democratic Party: Economically centre-right to right. Socially liberal/libertarian. The main libertarian party in Atlasia which stretches from moderate libertarians to more ideological libertarians. Second largest party on the right. More information can be found here.

The Social Democratic Party: Economic centre-left to left. Socially liberal. The socialist party of Atlasian politics the Social Democrats mostly represent the people who are more left wing than the Independent Liberals. More information can be found here.

The Progressive Conservative Party: Economically centre-right. Socially centrist. This party has just recently moved into major party status. Has shout to become the party of the centre. Many stances are still undefined. More information can be found here.

If you have any more questions feel free to PM me, email me, or IM me.

Might I add that as the vice-chairman of the ACA and the Governor of what looks to be your region of residence, we are pleased to have you here and hope that your experiences with Atlasia are nothing but pleasurable.

The emergency exits are located, here, here and here and our flight attendants are avaliable to attend to your needs during the flight. Thank you for flying with Fezzy Airways. Grin
