I'm not that upset.  I think Riley's a pretty good governor; granted, I wouldn't vote for him because I like Siegelman and probably Baxley (I don't know much about her), but he's WAY better than any other Southern Republican, except for possibly Arkansas' Lt. Governor, Winthrop Rockafeller.

How are the primaries looking?

And would Moore be able to run as an independent candidate or with another party if he loses the GOP nomination?

That is what the Democrats would pray for!

There was one other poll that I posted a few weeks ago that mirrored these Rasmussen numbers fairly well.  It was posted on the Gubernatorial board, and honestly I'm too lazy to look for it.

Basically, Riley was beating Moore's ass from here 'til Tuesday.  It was like 60% to 20% or something.

Baxley had a much smaller lead over Siegelman, iirc.

I don't know much Alabama election statute.  If you lose in the Republican primary, can you run as an independent in the general?  Certain state you can't, but certain states you can.  This is more of a question for anyone who knows anything about Alabama politics (and I'll look it up if I get time).
