Dear Atlasia,

We appear to be in the season of the great and good declaring whether they can face you, and so it is only fair that I tell you, especially the people of District 2, what my intentions are.

In short, I will not be seeking re-election. Life promises to be chaotic over the coming weeks and months, and mounting the sort of campaign I would want to alongside my service in the Senate just wouldn't be feasible.

It has been an honour to serve in the Senate, and to replace my predecessor, my good friend Al. I intend to complete my term and hope for continued progress on several areas of reform that are in the motions.

On behalf of the ILP and myself, I thank you for your work in the Senate both in terms of your legislative proposals and in your substantive contributions to the legislature's discussions. Well done and best of luck for your future endeavours.

Sad, but entirely understandable. You've been a great Senator so far.
