Interesting Biden took a hit here (though within the MoE). His favorability has been pretty stable (-5 in both polls), and Trump's approval has gone down.

Question: instead of keeping the 3% of respondents in the head 2 head matchup who "would not vote", why does YouGov not just remove them and adjust the percentages? "Would not vote" is not an option on the ballot.

It's hard to take these YouGov polls seriously when their approval/fav #s are always so much more positive for Trump than other polls. His approval on the virus is approaching -15 status in most other polls, while here it's only half that.

Trump job approval
Adults: 44/50 (-6) … -7 LW
RV: 45/53 (-8) … -6 LW

Trump virus approval
Adults: 45/50 (-5) … -8 LW
RV: 45/52 (-7) … -11 LW

Trump fav
Adults: 44/51 (-7) … -6 LW
RV: 44/54 (-10) …. -6 LW

Biden fav
Adults: 43/48 (-5) … -6 LW
RV: 46/51 (-5) …. -4 LW

Males: Trump +4 (LW: Trump +4)
Females: Biden +11 (LW: Biden +14)
18-29: Biden +21 (LW: Biden +13)
30-44: Biden +6 (LW: Biden +11)
45-64: Trump +5 (LW: Biden +4)
65+: Biden +2 (LW: Trump +1)
Whites: Trump +10 (LW: Trump +7)
Blacks: Biden +65 (LW: Biden +67)
Hispanics: Biden +18 (LW: Biden +16)

Major shifts from last week come from a slight drop in females for Biden, a boost in 18-29 for Biden, but a big change in 45-64. 65+ was Trump +13 two weeks ago, and now Biden is winning by 2.

This poll has Trump over performing the generic GOP congressional vote 42 to 39 and Biden under performing the generic Dem congressional vote 45 to 47.  Most likely means that Trump is pulling in some Dem voters or the Biden lead could get bigger from here or both.

Good poll for Trump. Should see a continued tightening with the stock market and economy beginning to rebound. Also I think the comment Biden made last week will hurt him a little bit.

His black vote was virtually unchanged in this poll compared to the last.

Please don't read too much into the weekly fluctuations of the YouGov Tracker. Biden has been anywhere from +3 to +6 all year. The sample does change every poll, so we'll get variances week by week but Biden's lead in this poll has been incredibly stable.

Non-black voters can feel offended by Biden’s “You ain’t black” comment.

The comment will make no difference in anything.

I think you mean pretend to be offended on social media. This "gaffe" is totally irrelevant.

It's kind of funny to me that the businesses Republicans care the least about reopening are gyms.

Partisan split on reopening:

These partisan splits seem pretty misleading to me without controlling for where people live.  Obviously it is much more reasonable to open up some of these industries in some areas of the country than in others.  And in particular, the areas where it is more reasonable to reopen right now will tend to be more rural and thus more heavily Republican.

Partisan split on reopening:

None of this surprises me at all. As I've said before, the pandemic-if it were even possible-has further reinforced political and social polarization in this country. Republicans are blaming Democratic governors and health officials for the closures, not Trump or their own Republican governors. It's an unfortunate, but true development.

Needs to poll better than this if he wants to win.

Average this in with the other polls and Biden's lead is plus 4, and a 2012 wave was 51/47
