Disgusting stuff from CNN, publishing this obvious trash. Hopefully President Biden takes a good, hard look at the free speech laws once he's inaugurated and goes after this sort of thing.

CNN was obsessed with Hillary's emails in 2016 and lots of concern trolling about Obama. I wonder if they are going to concern troll about Hunter Biden and Ukraine.

The last three months, the only times I've heard the name "Hunter Biden" is in context of "People are going to bring up Hunter Biden!"

I'm as pessimistic as they come and that battleground poll is the most ridiculous s**t I've ever seen. In order to get 52% Trump would have to be polling above that in almost half the states. I can see Trump getting more than 52% in OH in November, no way he's polling there now. 52% in GA is basically his absolute ceiling there if literally everything goes right. I can't believe they published this except maybe to support the horse race. So laughable and embarrassing.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/13/politics/cnn-poll-2020/index.html

Also noteworthy in this poll, Trump still leads Biden on handling the economy 54% to 42%.

Thoughts?

There's already an extensive thread on this poll in the general election polling subforum.

I've learned to ignore these polls that group "battleground states" together. It seems like a good rule of thumb for this election year.

Yep.
With most of them having small (tiny) samples for each state, they are ridiculous.

302 people divided by 15 battle ground states = 20 per state.

Why even bother CNN?

Edit: It appears to be 583 respondents from battleground states. So it'd be about 39 per state.

Same response, why even bother CNN?
Um... why are you (and everyone else) dividing the battleground states subsample size by the number of battleground states? That doesn't make any statistical sense. By that same token, every national poll is also trash since they typically have sample sizes of 1000 to 2000 (which by your bizarre logic means they have 20 to 40 per state).

As I stated before, the election will get closer as barber shops, movie theaters and sports begin to open up. It's a 278 election, a 413 election is not automatic as we saw the samething when polls predicted the same landslide in June 2016

I think this thread lacks more people saying battleground numbers are joke

Also, CNN helping Trump is some next level lunacy. The guy has like a 99% negative coverage there. It just shows when it comes to partisanship, people are equaly insane in both parties.

That's not how national polls work
