It's one thing to go after homophobia and the like - its another to mock people for believing in 'sky daddies'. Billions of people in the world do have the idea of what you call a 'sky daddy' existing, and having some sort of role, direct or not, on this earth.
Most people are not that intelligent, or are in a position too weak to abandon these falsehoods. Even so, these beliefs must be disregarded entirely.
What do you mean by this?

Are you posting from 2007 or something? F**k off with that edgy "I'm so much smarter than the vast majority of the human race" atheist bulls**t. It's fine to not believe in God, it's not fine to be a colossal prick about it.

I see a lot of people fail to grasp the part of God where, y'know, grace comes in.  And on Easter of all days.  Sad, but not unexpected.

Let's cut the bulls__t for a second here and actually look at the situation as if we were both christians and rational analysts.

One of these is probably true, or multiple:

A - God created COVID-19

B - God failed to prevent the spread/damage of COVOD-19

C - God wasn't paying attention and therefore doesn't alwats have our backs

D - God doesn't give a s__t about COVID-19 and the harm it will cause

I don't see how all four could be false. One or two or three, sure.
1. God created/planned for the Covid-19 virus.
He didn’t exactly create the virus, but in giving its ancestors the ability to mutate and being omniscient, he knew what could/would happen eventually.
2. God gave humans free will. We used that free will for most of our time here to learn about our World. We actually knew enough about our World at this point to prevent this virus from becoming a pandemic. We failed, even after having full knowledge of the threat for months.
3. God is always paying attention. He still gave us free will and we have the tools to fight the virus ourselves. Put the blame on human stupidity.
4. God doesn’t want anyone to suffer, but suffering is part of the World we entered as soon as the first bite of the Forbidden Fruit was taken. In comparison to our sins, one could argue the amount of suffering on Earth is minuscule.

Elections have consequences, and if the people vote in horrible leaders, it is not up to God to rescue them from those consequences. The warning signs about Trump were so blatant that only an ignoramus could miss them.

"Only God can shut down the classroom nationwide overnight in response to a manmade virus."

I can't figure out what that means but it seems to be something other than the thread title.

The Facebook post itself seems to indicate that the shutting down of schools (a response that was called for and carried out within the existing educational system) is an act of God...but the virus that caused the response (which is an actual force of nature) is referred to as a “manmade virus”...wut?

I agree. Her FB post is just weird.
I wouldn't put too much effort into trying to make sense of it.
She is just a crazy nutjob.

FWIW, it looks like Jennifer Fleck hasn't won the nomination for HD-47 yet.

She is going to be in a runoff with Justin Berry, a police officer who seems to be running primarily as a "Thin Blue Line"/tough-on-crime candidate.

Neither one seems like a good fit for the district but if I were a Republican trying to win an election, I'd probably be supporting Berry. The unhinged fundie Christian stuff would have worked there 15-20 years ago but the demographics of the area have changed.

Basically the GOP needs to find someone to run there who doesn't talk about social issues and just concern trolls about Muh Property Taxes.

The Christian Believers that voted for Trump aren't the ones complaining loudly about him.

Whatever sort of personal Character Example Trump may be, he conveys respect toward the Evangelical Community, while the Democratic Party actively views them as various forms of HPs.  I would like someone to tell me why I should be anxious to vote for someone who views me, my family, and my church brethren as "part of the problem" (to put it mildly).  This is a message the Democratic candidates let out nowadays, and I see them as progressively more emboldened to lob verbal salvos toward Evangelical Christians as time marches on.
