Well I'll be up in Minnesota until Thursday night visiting colleges. If anyone needs to contact me send me a PM or an email. Don't let thinks go to hell while I'm away. I'm serious this time. Wink

Oh and BRTD no I'm not going to one of your nasty-ass strip clubs.

The thought of someone visiting Minnesota for colleges amuses me.  I mean, what do we have.  The U of M?  Well, okay, the U is decent, but I will never ever ever ever go to it because I might have to go to my old UMTYMP buildings to take math classes X_X

The University of Minnesota is actually very good. Not MIT/Harvard/Yale good, but top 20 at least. Incidentally, I went through UMTYMP as well. How did you like it?

I hated it very much.  I felt like a complete social outcast; for instance, when I did my homework in the library during the period I got off normally reserved for math, I could hear the pleasant sounds of the 'normal advanced' class in a curtained off section of the library, as they laughed and generally enjoyed themselves in the company of others.  Meanwhile, I was alone at a table doing math that I didn't really understand the point of.  The teachers were nice, but sorta distant.  I never felt comfortable asking them for help.  I did three years of it (Algebra I-Calculus I), and by the end my math skills were certainly increased, but my interest in math or a math-based career was zero.  So, I quit as soon as I entered high school, when there were AP classes available that were at the level I was at, and have never regretted my decision since then.  Unfortunately, math still provides no pleasure for me Tongue

Penn State is probably just as good as U-Minnesota, and a fraction of the price thanks to in-state tuition.

Otherwise, there are plenty of good private schools in Pennsylvania to look at -Dickinson, Gettysburg, Bucknell, Lafayette, the University of Pennsylvania.

Since you've asked so nicely, maybe he'll take you to one of his nicer up-scale strip clubs. Tongue

Colin, why don't you apply for Mankato U? I mean any school that has a club "I drink I party and damnit I'm awesome" has to be a great place to get a good education, eh?

For the record, there is actually a "I Drink, I Party and Dammit I'm Awesome!" group for every school.

My brother's school has one, as well as two other great ones:

"UND: #2 School in the nation for binge drinking"
"Let's make it #1"

Good luck on the visits. My cousin went to St. Olaf, and I'm a Carleton grad myself. In fact I'll be in the Twin Cities this weekend to attend a wedding.

Seriously, there's probably even those at Harvard and Yale...

Well I went to Carlton and it was an absolutely amazing school. Definitely on my list. I also went to Macalester College in St. Paul.

Both Minneapolis and St. Paul were nice. I even had the wonderful experience of going through BRTD's hated Edina, Minnesota which I must say looked like a rather typical suburb.

Had dinner along Lake Minnetonka which was a very nice area. Overall had a great trip except for all the heightened security today at the airports.
