I have no reason to trust Assange, but simultaneously I have no reason to doubt that Trump would do something like this. It is one of yet many other impeachable offenses of his that define his corrupt, transactional personality. But another impeachment before the election will not be worth it.

FF Assange is gonna take down Trump. Loving this.

The only thing that will take down Trump is the American voting populace. This could play a role in that of course, but that overestimates the undecided American voters that matter in assuming that they will care about or remember this by November.

Yeah, the reason I think this probably happened isn't because Assange has any credibility. It's just because it's exactly the kind of thing he'd do based on past behavior.

It's not like Trump is less of a repugnant scumbag if this isn't rue.

Of course not.  BUT (and I only post this just for the sake of discussion) in January 2017, Assange denied that Russia was the source for the materials -- not that necessarily believe him.

Quote
HANNITY: Can you say to the American people, unequivocally, that you did not get this information about the DNC, John Podesta's emails, can you tell the American people 1,000 percent that you did not get it from Russia or anybody associated with Russia?

JULIAN ASSANGE: Yes. We can say, we have said, repeatedly that over the last two months that our source is not the Russian government and it is not a state party.

This is certainly something that will need to be clarified going forward.

Of course, if, as HisGrace noted, Rohrabacher chimes in and confirms Assange's account, it opens up a whole 'nother can of worms.

Uh yeh, this has been brought up in so many articles and broadcasts I've lost count. It's also been established long ago that he was lying through his teeth when he said this.

The thing is, Mr. Trump doesn't even realize stuff like this is more than problematic. That it's blatant abuse of power and pure corruption. He sees the office of prez and the powers as tool to advance his personal interests. In his mindset, there is no distinction between himself and the office. He himself, and he alone, is the state. He can do whatever he wants. Whatever helps him, helps the country. He has absolutely no awareness of wrongdoing here. It's just a normal transaction for his own benefit.

Hillary Clinton warned us of this. Hell, it was always obvious if one knows anything about Trump and his personality, even pre-politics. But too much of this country refused to listen or care.
