If you don't consider queens and empresses, is Jeanine Anez, president of Bolivia, the first female dictator?

There were queens and empresses in the past, who had powers, like Elizabeth I of England.

But in republics and parliamentary monarchies, women who rule usually are only democratically elected. Dictators are men.

As far as I remember, the president of Bolivia is the first female dictator.

After watching Margot Robbie as Elizabeth I of England, I would have said her, but you cleverly excluded English monarchs, and one of the biggest female dictators in history.

In an analysis from a US academic standard, perhaps Jeanine Anez is a dictator.

As stated "After taking office, the governments of Canada, Brazil, the European Union, Russia and the United States recognized Áñez as the acting president of Bolivia."

But according to that list, and given that it is Bolivia, then perhaps there is a different viewpoint within that country that presents itself that we are not seeing.

Almost guaranteed that we don't have all the facts.
