No one can seriously claim Biden is the front runner now, this is an open race.

CNN's most recent poll had him at 11%

Prior to that, the December Marist/NPR poll had him at 13%

Well, he's still leading... CNN is still the only poll to show Sanders ahead of Biden.

In my mind, ‘front runner’ means more than just a narrow lead nationally, and being behind in multiple early states.

That's fair. This race thus far is actually drawing some close parallels to the '08 primary with Sanders as Obama.

He was actually at 16% and in second place in a Quinnipiac poll a couple of months ago.

No, Bernie is not the frontunner yet, but he will be in a couple of weeks if this trend continues

Also, every poll shows this

Is your mind made up, or do you think you might change your mind before the primary?,

Made up/might change:

Sanders supporters: 56%/43%
Biden: 51%/49%
Warren: 36%/62%
Bloomberg: 26%/69%
Klobuchar: 20%/80%

It's a two person race already, many people just haven't receive a notice

Actually, it might be a bad news for Sanders. Buddha Judge may totally collapse and his voters go to Biden in IA and NH...

Those don't seem super positive numbers for Sanders, given Warren supporters are ostensibly more committed than Bloomberg or Klobuchar supporters, yet the latter two are equal to Warren supporters even without taking into account Buttigieg supporters (and even though second choices can be pretty idiosyncratic, it's obvious where each candidate's supporters would mostly go if forced to choose between Biden and Sanders, and the undecideds in that match-up (like myself, ugh) are not a big group).

They won't go to Biden. Sanders benefits the most from Warren, others are distributing equaly in a majority of IA polls

According to polls Pete steals most from Biden/Klob and Warren.
Both are bad news for Bernie.

Biden gains + Warren gets 15%. I am not saying though that Pete is collapsing in IA/NH, but he might.

Biden is still favored, but his edge is pretty clearly narrower than it's been since he entered the race. And that's not because he's collapsing, since his support has pretty consistently been in the high 20s. It's because Sanders seems to be gaining, peeling support from Buttigieg and Warren. The real threat for Biden isn't losing support, it's stalling in his current level of support while Sanders overtakes him.

Biden is still ahead in Southern primaries,  all Bernie has to win are VA and FL or even flip TX and AZ, if Bernie wins convincingly enough in IA, NH and NV he should avoid SC and campaign with AOC in the Latino states, that I have named
