Trump and Obama are tied at 18% each for most admired man, per Gallup. No one else exceeded 2%.

Isn't the current President usually head and shoulders above everyone else?

IIRC Up until he died recently it was usually Billy Graham at the top.

That's what I thought, but...

I also thought JP II won the title more than just once.

Wow. Obama still led the poll in 2017 and 2018.

The fact that HRC won it like twenty years in a row and Michelle Obama only won it for the first time in 2017 is more stunning to me than that Trump only just won his first (half) title.

Trump sharing the spot with Obama, rather than winning it outright, has to be getting under his skin.

That's the only reason why I'm not nauseated by it.

I will step in again with my usual disclaimer that Gallup isn't actually Gallup, and it's not a polling company either.

Trump will NEVER even come close to being as admired as President Obama.

Trump is despised by most of the country and most of the world.

Except, apparently, he did.

He never won it. You're probably thinking of that he holds the record for most times in the top 10.

Only because there's basically no other prominent male figure that Americans know of at the moment. So many people in this poll just said "Trump". Way more Americans admire Obama than Trump.

Also, on a WORLDWIDE level, which is also what I said, President Obama utterly destroys Trump.

Unfortunately most people who admire him do so for the same reasons we're disgusted--because he tosses basic human empathy out the window, spews hate against "the others" and panders to the white male victim complex.

I've been asking that question for over 30 years now.
