A very sad story.  Here's a glowing article on him from 2014.  That's a heck of a fall, inspiring youth far and wide, but then it turns out he's been harming them too in this way.

Only political angle I see here is he's a white evangelical from Alabama, which means liberal Democrats can fit him into their partisan box and thank the Lord that they are not like him.

Oh shut up. He just got sentenced over a thousand years for molesting numerous young boys and Trump congratulated him on all the fine work he does with children. He undoubtedly also the right of homosexuals to have consenting adults sex and marriage is between themselves.

So yeah, eat up all that schadenfreude with a big soup spoon, pal.

How is it Trump's fault that he just read a news article on a man assumed to be doing good and sending a letter of thanks? How was he supposed to know here? Stop trying to spin this as anti Trump. You could arguably spin it as anti evangelicalism but to spin it all the way to Trump is crazy.

Badger is the caricature of Trump Derangement Syndrome come to life.  This is not rare; there are many here.  Trump is the root of all evil.

Nothing says “I have the moral high ground” like politicizing child molestation so you can feel superior to folks you disagree with Roll Eyes
To be honest I mostly agree with this. This sort of stuff is just cheap "gotcha!" stunts, it doesn't reflect on any greater ideology or party. Republicans did the same stuff over Harvey Weinstein who was a big Democratic donor and Eric Schneiderman. All this shows is that this guy, Weinstein and Schneiderman are all massive, epic scumbags.

Yeah, the idea that the clergy or conservatives are particularly susceptible to being creeps or paedos is basically an exact mirror of the conservative theory that all male feminists are leches. Basically, we always enjoy seeing people hoisted on their own petards, so anybody who proclaims themselves to be a paragon of sexual virtue stands out a lot more when they are revealed to be frauds. Unfortunately for propagandists, most abusers will keep their perverse habits domestic and are apolitical.
