I agree. The Democratic Republican Party is obviously a much greater threat to this country than any single other foreign entity — Russia included.

There now, looks much more accurate.  I agree -the Republican Party is obviously a much greater threat to this country given they are now acting as agents of a hostile foreign power knowingly spouting its propaganda for crass partisan purposes to defend a President with no moral compass or genuine sense of patriotism who puts his personal business and political interests ahead of that of the United States, abuses his power, makes a mockery of the Constitution, and undermines the sanctity of our elections and our national security.  In fact, given what I have seen, I would argue that the Republican Party of today would never dare pass sanctions against Russia and Putin's cronies the way they did earlier in Trump's term.  

Safe to say, to paraphrase the Rev. Pat Robertson, they have lost their 'mandate of heaven', and deserve to go into the dustbin of history where they belong.

Not anymore. We need to start viewing American history as a clash between civilized humans and white Southerners/Evangelicals. They're the undisputed villains of this story — they don't deserve to share in our national triumphs, they aren't qualified to lecture us on anything (patriotism, personal responsibility, sexual mores, etc.), and they're no longer respected members of our political community. What they do, what happens to them, isn't our problem — they're separate, distinct.

Dehumanizing Republicans is wrong (their choices are very human, and equally very stupid and very evil). But I can understand the motivation behind it. What do you do when a good proportion (about 20% to 25%) of your fellow citizens are either so stupid they're an active danger to the community, or utterly unwilling to participate in society in good faith?

The best I can come up with is that the rest of us need to be far better organized and motivated than we are now, and it needs to be made very clear to the Republicans that both the letter and spirit of law will be followed, whether the Republicans like it or not.  

It's a distinction without a difference. When I characterize tribalists/authoritarians as 'animals,' I'm not implying that they aren't constituted of human DNA, or that their primitive version of "morality" isn't recognizable throughout human history. I'm simply pointing out that they're incredibly dangerous, and not deserving of the same sorts of protections we afford persons with functioning intellects and consciences. To be perfectly blunt, every now and again these things get swept up in violent extremist movements and have to be exterminated. So this is my way of separating them from the rest of us.

Now, the question of how to proceed is fraught, but here's my answer: we don't. By the time the threat is recognized, we'll be in the midst of a full fledged nuclear/ecological disaster. In the aftermath of which, society will have to be fundamentally reorganized such that these things no longer have a voice in the political process. But at the moment, this is an extremely radical position, so I have no doubt that said calamity will have to unfold before the bulk of society is moved to act. You want to believe that motivation/organization is the key, but like the 2016 election, I promise you the masses will choke spectacularly at the least opportune moment.
