30-sec radio spots, read by Htmldon:

Ad text:

You know, after all of the struggles in America for equal justice and equal rights for all of us... its really sad when politicians appeal to bigotry to get votes.  It's even sadder when President Nym's campaign does it.  On Thursday, President Nym released an ad that criticized his opponents based solely on their age.  Can we allow ageism in the forum to go unchallenged?  Of course not.  We have a choice in this election.  We have the ability to stop ageism, racism, and all other hatreds.  We can vote for Gustaf, and vote against hate.

Paid for by the UAC. *UAC chimes*

The Nym90 campaign did not release that ad. It was put out by a 3rd party, and is in no way affiliated with the Nym90 campaign. The President calls on the UAC to pull this ad immediately and correct this error.

The ad was a joke and was clearly not released under Nym's authority.  Thus there is a factual error in your ad.

From now on, all official ads of Nym90 will have Nym's personal statement of support (modern political ads).

The ad was released by a member of your cabinet and was clearly meant to help Nym's campaign, regardless of what you are calling it.

So the UAC campaign is comfortable with falsehoods about things taken out of context?

Nym clearly announced that he did not condone the ad and the author clearly announced that it was a joke.

Hah, great ad Don. Smiley

And the pronounciation of my name was pretty good as well! Cheesy

I'm gonna listen to it one more time, just to get that straight... Wink

Apart from the fact that the f should be pronounced v and the u should be short...but from an English-speaker that's about as close as it gets, I think. Smiley

I see that certain elements of certain parties are throwing everything into this now... Wink

I should perhaps point out that this ad was not sponsored by or in any other way connected to myself...so the president's attempt to smear my campaign for it make his defence of the 'age ad' look just a tad hypocritical... Smiley

Well, it was paid for by the UAC. As the UAC nominee, doesn't that make it your ad?

The "age" ad, however, was not paid for by the AFDNC or by any group affiliated directly with the Democratic Party or my campaign.

I guess the blurred thing at the end does say 'paid for by the UAC'.. Smiley

But that doesn't make it my ad. Or do you want us to link the actions of the AFDNC under the leadership of Boss Tweed to your candidacy? I will be happy to play that game! Cheesy Wink

And since the only known member of the group behind the 'age ad' people is your own Secreatary of Labour and out-spoken supporter I think it's fair to say that they are at least indirectly linked to you... Wink

That doesn't stop the ad from lying about something taken out of context.

A Democrat gave an unofficial joke and then this ad accuses  Nym of releasing hateful language.  This is false.  Htmldon seems to be your official spokesperson though Gustaf.

In case you haven't seen my official comments about this:

Dan Abrams: NBC News has been attempting to get a reaction from the Senator as well.  Now, on another subject, Mr. Secretary, you have been taking some criticism for releasing an ad that criticizes the President’s opponents because of their age.  Do you have any comment?

Fritz:  That ad was a joke, pure and simple.  It wasn’t intended to offend anyone, but if it did I am sorry for that.  I take some comfort from the fact that Governor Ilikeverin, who is a young person himself, took the ad in the spirit it was intended.  Personally, I have not even made a decision whether I will vote for the President or for Gustaf.  I look forward to seeing the candidates debate.

Actually, I didn't take it that way at first (and I prepared a scathing reply), then I noticed you posted it was a joke.

Besides, Cheesy could have worked both ways... to me it looks a little sarcastic.

heh, I believe the nym90 campaign took something John Ford said out of context.  I won't push the point though.

Lets try to keep this clean fellows.

I am not at all offended...I figured it was a joke and I only went along with this to retain the spirit of desperate spinning, etc. Smiley

And I am happy to hear that there is at least one high-ranking Democrat who is at least considering voting for me. Wink

To Lunar, I would very much like to hear about the context of Fritz ad...what did Don leave out? (and don't say it was a joke, b/c that obviously works both ways). Cheesy

And where on earth did you get the idea that Don is my official spokesman? Huh He's just very cool and talented when it comes to ads...no one has states that he holds any official position. (not to say that I don't approve of the ads...they just haven't been approved by me, if you see what I mean... Wink )

Well, Ford claimed it was a symbolic statement and I took it literally, but he wasn't joking with his statement at all. It was still a serious exchange.

I agree that perhaps the campaign is getting a little too heated...lol...it's just like real-life politics. Wink
