(personally story, not a news event)
So my buddy moved to Belgium last year.  Bought an American spec Golf GTI because the contract he's working under is only 3 years and he plans on moving back.  They actually had to ship the car to the US then back to Europe because of stupid regulations...but that's not the issue I bring to you today.

Two weeks ago it got stolen.  Someone came into their home at 3am, grabbed his wallet, some VW paraphernalia and the keys and stole the car.  He asked the cops if they could find it with the GPS in the car, they said nah, they don't do that.  Yesterday they called and said that they did that.  Of course the car is now nowhere in Belgium.  Probably already on a boat to Morocco or Lebanon.

Police suck in general. Not individual officers of course, just the rules they’re hamstrung by. Black kid smokes weed? They’ll arrest his ass in a heartbeat. But when a homeless man literally broke into my home during Hurricane Wilma (forcing my mom and my brothers and I to flee upstairs while my dad has to chase him off with a bat) and the Boynton police first lectured my dad on his “cold heart” before declining to take the man to a shelter because he’s “not a taxi.”

When I got robbed at gun point in Tallahassee I didn’t even bother to call them. Nothing ultimately was stolen and the police there are basically useless anyway.
