Today (U.S. time) Michael would have become 60 years old, if he hadn't died on June 25, 2009.
He was one of the most successful musicians of all time. The only male singer who was even more successful was Elvis Presley. The best-selling album of all time is his 1982 LP Thriller, which sold 66 millions copies worldwide and was certified with triple diamond + triple platinum (only the Eagle's greatest hits album has sold more copies in the US) and won eight Grammys.
He was known for his music videos, which were simply artworks. The music video of Thriller was the hitherto longest and most expensive one. He was also the first black musician to be played on MTV.
He was also known for his dance moves; he made the moonwalk and the Thriller moves two of the most famous dance moves of all time. (He didn't invent the moonwalk contrary to prevailing opinion though.)
What do you think about his personality, his life and his music?
What do you think about his many scandals, especially his abuse allegations and his plastic surgery?
Was he an idol of yours like he was to millions of people around the globe? Were you shocked and deeply grieved when you heard about his death?
And do you miss Bubbles, who lives at the Center for Great Apes in Wauchula, Florida, where he earns his livelihood by doing paintings?

I'd never forget the day he was arrived in Côte d'Ivoire, my country, in 1992. He was also named as prince of Aboisso, one of Côte d'Ivoire's cities.

I like his music. I tried to dance like him one day.

I've been to Côte d'Ivoire.

As for Michael Jackson, living through his career, he was an extraordinary pop talent.

In 1980, "Off The Wall" was the album that really escalated him to the big stage.

Song 1 off the album

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yURRmWtbTbo

Song 2 off the album

Imagine starting your album with those 2 songs, let alone dance like that.

A truly gifted musician and artist.

I've got an interesting question:

In which song of his does Michael mention the name of a former U.S. president, and whose is it?

“They Don’t Care About Us” and Franklin D. Roosevelt

👍🏻

"But if Roosevelt was living, he wouldn't let this be, no!"

There are two music videos to this song. In the prison version, which I linked above, there is also shown the face of Roosevelt.

Thriller is probably the only one I've heard all the songs off of, but people that seem to konw what they're talking about always pick Off the Wall, so I voted that way.

The Undisputed King of Pop for his entire career; whoever wears the crown after him has an impressive catalog to go up against.

Thriller was the best, followed by Bad.

I love his music, but HP as a person.

I like all of his albums.

However, I like Dangerous the most because New Jack Swing is life!

Also, Dangerous was the PEAK of Michael Jackson's life/career.

Sexual abuse was the Denise of him, sell off Neverland Ranch to pay his legal defense. Used sleeping pills to go to sleep so he can make more money due to losing it on his defense. But, a Freedom Fighter

I liked the joke Conan O'Brien told about Michael Jackson for Michael Jackson's 50th birthday "I feel like a kid again...but I better not."

Off The Wall and Thriller are both pretty much equal in terms of quality, but Thriller gets my vote because of "Baby Be Mine", a guilty pleasure of mine.

In short... it's complicated.

I am not 100% sure that he was a pedophile, as I've seen some fairly convincing evidence that would seem to vouch for him not being one, but given the sheer number of people who have come forward, I also find it hard to believe they're all lying - sure, some probably are, but given the facts about his behavior and personality, I would not at all be surprised if he did indeed molest at least some of the children who have accused him of such. as for his music, obviously he was an extremely talented singer and performer, and I do enjoy most of his work.

Overall, I find it very hard to say he was a FF or HP, at least until the issue of whether he was truly a monster as some of his accusers allege is truly settled one way or the other so there can be no doubt.

I'm not even a fan of him personally, I've just seen some evidence that would point to some of the accusers not being truthful, but again, given the undeniable facts, I would not be surprised at all if Jackson did molest children. and even if it was proven he didn't I'm still not sure I'd call him a pure FF.

Doesn't it hurt to realize how brutally fast time elapses? I remember how my mom said to me on June 25, 2010, that Michael's seem to have happened like only one day ago... Cry

Where's the "Child-molesting HP" option?  It seems to be missing from the poll.

The guy was incredibly talented and had a tragic childhood which may have influenced his erratic behavior in adulthood. As for his music, I appreciate his artistry but it's not the kind of music that I actively seek out. As such it was kind of easy for me to become revolted at the further revelations of his his conduct around young boys.

Artistically he is a lean freedom fighter. As a person, he is a lean horrible person.
