I want to be able to cut down on my sleep more to get stuff done. Can energy drinks help me sleep less? I've never tried them before.

Even though Red Bull is a product of my home state, I never drink it.

I prefer coffee.

Coffee works well rn but like if I add energy drinks on top of that it will like, increase the impact I imagine. At least that's sort of the motivation there.

Buzzed while driving actually. Thankfully managed to snap myself out of it and pull over before sh*( could hit the fan.

No, but I have felt awful due to drinking too much coffee to pull an all-nighter.

Not from drinking them myself, but I tend to find other people drinking them near me on the train at 7am tends to make me want to throw up.

If I drink too many of them my eyelids can get twitchy and I'll have trouble sleeping that day. I don't think that kind of long-term agitation is good for your heart either.

I don't think energy drinks are unique in this though. It's pretty much just the caffeine that is the problem (unless it has some sort of other stimulant in it).

I drink them very rarely. I prefer the old-fashion coffee and strong tea.

You could for a little while but it would be ultimately unsustainable. If you do need to sleep less, I would recommend looking at alternate sleep cycles. I did a two-nap cycle for several months a few years ago when I had a more reliable schedule, and while it's a pain to get on and off, it does work when you are on it.

No, because I don't drink those overpriced concentrated sodas.

These two goals are generally mutually exclusive.

I won't drink these things.

My younger adult son became addicted to Red Bull after serving in Afghanistan.

Only once in my life, when I drank a 500 ml can. For some reason that night I was completely unable to sleep until like 9 am.

It probably causes about $1000 of dental work a year.
Then again, that all could’ve been because someone was over treating me with what I could afford and now those treatments are breaking down. There’s just a lot of metal fillings that need to be replaced now. Luckily no tooth has needed to be pulled yet. I just hope I can continue to get raises because eventually I think I will get to the point where I will need implants and I’m still too young for dentures and when I’m old enough, it would just seem unreasonable to have no teeth in the year 2040 or 2050.

Beyond that and it’s the same with coffee, it can cause minor anxiety attacks.

That's more to do with the military indoctrination and sleep deprivation combined with the red bull. But you can get addicted to anything.

Caffeine pills make me too wired to sleep for 12 hours after taking them. I also get annoying nausea as well.
