Quote
Bhutan’s Parliament has recently taken a historic decision by planning to decriminalize homosexuality in the country.

The Legislative Committee of the National Assembly has decided to remove Sections 213 and 214 of the Penal Code of Bhutan that considers ‘unnatural sex’ as an offence.

The members of the committee have supported the decision of decriminalization of homosexuality that was first recommended by Finance Minister Lyonpo Namgay Tshering.

Even with the disappointment in Kenya last month, it is reassuring to see countries around the world take these important steps forward to protect queer people.

The struggle isn’t linear, but it swings toward justice.

Great news, but just decriminalizing homosexuality is a baby step if there ever was one.

At the absolute minimum, people should face no legal consequences in any country or jurisdiction for who they choose to love and have sex with, so long as it's between two consenting adults.

"Just" decriminalising homosexuality is still a very big deal in huge swathes of the world.

And it was illegal in most of the "West" well within living memory.
