Shockingly, the Republican Party goes back to its Christian fundamentalist SJW outrage machine, after running a faux campaign against political correctness. Being against a foreign government lobbying OUR representatives now biggoted, according to the PC police on the right.

She was condemned immediately by her own caucus.
The Democratic Party is just as guilty of snowflakery with regards to Israel. They are also largely just as influenced by superpacs as well. I do not play team democrat or team republican, I care about the issues. I am merely pointing out a major hypocracy with the narrative of the Republican Party. Make no mistake; the bigot card is only being played here because they cannot defend there position on substance.

Your comments raise the awful specter of anti-Semitism, a specter that I would not like to see raised.

You didn't answer my question. Are you proposing that Israel (along with other countries like Saudi Arabia) doesn't have undue influence on our politics? The problem in this isn't Israel specifically, the problem is the nearly limitless amount of lobbying we allow in Washington. Are you denying that SuperPacs and other such organizations DONT have too much influence over our politicians?

Legitimate criticism of Israel is warranted, but relying upon anti-Semitic tropes is not (i.e. to make insinuations about Israeli financial influence via AIPAC).

Once again, are you saying that PACs IN GENERAL do not have too much influence over our politics?

No. I was referring specifically to AIPAC, which was the subject of this thread.

Where’s the anti-Semitism? Sure, she’s espousing obviously anti-Zionist views, but I don’t see how anyone except pro-Zionist hacks could distort what she said into anti-Semitism. AIPAC does have enormous influence on American politics; how else would one interpret all the money they spend on politicians, the free trips to Israel, the intense lobbying and political pressure exerted on politicians who defy their interests? What other country has a similar lobbyist group and a foreign policy as pro-Israel as America?

It’s not some Jewish conspiracy. Most American Jews have absolutely nothing to do with it; many, if not most, American Jews are critical of Israel to some degree. I’m not saying that Omar isn’t an anti-Semite either; I don’t know how she truly feels about Jewish people. But, I do know that those tweets do not make her an anti-Semite.

Crazy to think that this thread has been active for less than a week. It feels like generations have been born and died into it like Jarndyce v. Jarndyce.

I will heed your advice, and close this thread, though it is not pointless.
