The Whig Party dissolved in 1854. How, if at all, did Southern Whigs vote in subsequent elections?

Didn't most southern Whigs support slavery?  That may answer at least part of your question, right there.

Check out Southern Whig strongholds (Louisiana + Upper South, basically) in 1856 and 1860. Fillmore came damned close to winning LA against Pierce in 1856 and was in the 40s in NC and TN. Bell swept the Upper South and Breckenridge only won Louisiana over Douglas by the skin of his teeth.

The areas in the South which voted for the Whigs in the 2nd Party system voted largely for the Know Nothing Party in 1856 and the Constitutional Union Party in 1860. Post Civil War these went to the Democratic Party with the exception of parts of Appalachia like Eastern TN and Southeast KY which became reliably Republican.
